The MISSION of the Pennsylvania Literary Festival is to engage and inform attendees concerning literary achievements, opportunities, and educational programs within the state and surrounding areas by assembling publishers, authors, libraries, schools, literary agencies, reading associations, book clubs, and the general public. In order to achieve this mission, we must be guided by a VISION of becoming a world-class literary festival that delivers superior customer service and an enriching experience to our stakeholders. One aspect of bringing our vision to life is to ensure that the Event Team is deliberate in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and consistency in branding the event. This Guide will serve as a reference to the Event Team when communicating on behalf of #PAlitFest.
The name of the event should be written as “Pennsylvania Literary Festival” or “#PAlitFest” (with hashtag and capitalization as shown) and spoken as “Pennsylvania Literary Festival” or “P-A Lit Fest.” While the word “the” may be used to modify the event name, especially in conversation, it is not a formal part of the event name and should not be capitalized. The title “Event Team” should be used to describe the planning committee and/or volunteers.
Use of the logo above, in black-and-white form, is encouraged for all event materials. The heading above, including the logo, tagline “A weekend-long Celebration of Reading and Writing at the Uniontown Mall” and dates (May 30 – June 1, 2014) should be used on formal event correspondence.
Calibri font should be used, when possible. The font may be modified with bold or italic typeface or a “small caps” effect as appropriate.
When sending e-mail correspondence regarding #PAlitFest, the following signature should be applied:
Full Name | Title
Pennsylvania Literary Festival
55 Charles Street
Uniontown, PA 15401
Individuals without a specific title (Committee chair position, etc.) should use “Event Team” for a title.
CONSIDERATIONS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA
Be timely in responding to information requests on social media channels. Never post questionable content or respond to someone else’s content in a way that could reflect poorly on yourself or on #PAlitFest. If an Event Team member has concerns as to whether a post is appropriate or how to best respond to a question or comment, he or she should feel free to consult the event’s Director of Operations by phone at the earliest possible opportunity.
